Guardianship
Guardianship is a process where a person is deemed incapacitated (unable to make certain decisions for themselves) due to disability or age. The incapacitated person’s rights to make certain decisions are taken away and given to someone else: a Guardian. This is intended to be a last resort when nothing else will protect the incapacitated person.
