Letters of Administration is a document the court provides after a hearing to an administrator of an estate have they have completed the steps to “qualify” for this position. This document or Letters Testamentary is usually necessary to access bank accounts, talk to creditors, and sell property from an estate. This is not simply a letter written by an attorney, but is part of the probate process. The law requires an administrator to be represented by an attorney.
