U.S. states generally recognize the validity of trusts and other estate planning documents prepared in other U.S. states. Trusts can be particularly useful when a person owns real estate in more than one state. That being said, since laws differ from state to state, it is important to consult with an attorney in your present state of residence regarding any estate planning documents you have.
